Well, for one, dont mix a repairer and plates. They have no synergy, and are usually just about as bad as a dual tank. I'd go for a damage control instead for more resist and survivability to run away if things go south.

As a rule it's cheaper to buy metal than mine and refine. As in, you would make better isk mining veldspar, then selling the veld and buying the other metal, than you would mining the ore for the other metal and refining.
